Signatures in iPad Mail

I know I can have multiple iPad mail accounts but I can't figure out how to have multiple signatures in Mail (i.e., one for each account). Is this possible? Thanks.

Email only supports a single signature for now.

Not possible - only one signature.

The idea of a signature included with an iPod Touch, iPhone, or with any phone in the smart phone category is indicating the message was sent with a portable device in case of any spelling or punctuation errors, etc. The same applies with the iPad - at the present time anyway since the iPad runs the iPhone/iPod Touch OS.

Interesting note. Hosting Email with Dreamhost. My associate and I, on both our iPads...

Our signature block that we have input in, it all becomes hyperlinked when viewing on an iPad. So if I send him an Email, and he reads it on his iPad, the entire signature block is all hyperlinked. And when I view one of his emails on my iPad, his entire signature block is hyperlinked. We have our full addresses, phone numbers and website address in that signature block. I tried a ton of variations, including omitting things like Postal Code, website address, etc., but to no avail. Tried with setting up the account as both IMAP and POP.

I think this is a product of the iPhone OS. I read the same emails on my MacBook Air in Mac Mail and the signature block wasn't all hyperlinked like it was on the iPad.

Anyone else that has seen this, please chime in.

So the problem: iPhone OS on iPad is hyperlinking all text in full signature blocks.
Possible Reason: to link up to Google Maps.
Solution: None found yet.

As a matter of fact, you can have multiple signatures. There is an iPhone app called Email Signature Pro which allows you to set up signatures for up to 6 signatures, I believe. This includes images/logos and text. The only limitation is that you must initiate the email from within the app rather than from the Mail app. This works just fine for creating a new email, but it does add an awkward step or two (copy/paste) if you want to want to include a signature on a Reply. Works very well. I use it all the time with multiple signatures.

I haven't picked up my iPad app yet...I use this app on my iPhone called Pasebot.

It is really a clip board app. I keep my signature for all my email accounts and the images I use with them. It does require a lot of copying and pasting but it works.

Also, sometimes I just send an email from my desktop to another account and use that as a template.

Both methods provide me with results I can use. I have 9 email accounts and I use a specialized signature on 4 of the accounts. It does get hairy sometimes if I'm using my group contacts app!

Like I said it is work, but, I love the results of seeing my signature with all my links. I have a link to my website, I have a link to unsubcribe and subscribe to my emails.

I hope that helps or at least points you in the right direction. I did use that signature app but I didn't like the size of the image and it couldn't be resized.

I can't believe that I have to install a $5 app to enable multiple signatures from my iPad2, and then be forced to use that app for all email and copy/paste on replies. Sounds pretty ridiculous.


I have multiple email accounts - business, youth football league, personal. I sign differently, and with different contact information, depending on which account I'm replying from - or generating a new email from.


Thankfully, I am able to set a signature for each email account on my Palm Pre - WebOS. This seems pretty basic to me.


@Allan Sampson - I completely disagree. The purpose of a signature is NOT to identify that you sent the message from a mobile device, but to give information on how to contact you, or about your company, etc. It's marketing, and making someone feel inferior that they don't have a gadget that I do. Plus, I don't want someone to know if I'm sending an email from a mobile device.

Totally agree with WebOSGuy - the Mobile devices should replace the lap- or desktop computers. And no one needs to know where I am in the office or on the go. I have my office signature installed in Mail in my iPad and have to highlight and erase it each time I don't want to send it. Since it is inserted even in replies and forwarded mails. Quite tedious! Let's hope an update will resolve the matter soon!

I agree. It's ludicrous that such basic functionality should be missing, although it's not the only thing. There's no way to set the Out-of-Office messages on Exchange for example.

I'm not confident that this will be fixed by an update soon, after all we're already on iOS 5 and it's still missing. I guess these things aren't ready for corporate use after all. The Android devices I've been testing have this built-in, although the functionality varies between manufacturers.

After trying all sorts of apps and tricks, I was never really satisfied with their look. But there is an easy and satisfying solution to have the same HTML email signature on the iPhone as on Mail on a laptop. I create a new email in Mail on my Mac using my business email signature with logo and hyper links. I only give it a subject e.g. 'Template' and save it as a draft and repeat this ten times or so. If you are using Gmail or any IMAP account, the drafts folder will immediately be synced with your iPad or iPhone - make sure in Preferences you use 'save drafts on server' option. In your 'Drafts' you now have ten blank emails named Template with your HTML email signature, looking exactly as the one you are using on Mail on the mac and all your links are functional. When the ten are used up, just create a new batch.
