How to: Subscripts and superscripts in Pages for iPad?

I think the only way to make them is by copy/paste from another doc or using an app like Unicode Table where you can access them in Unicode range 2070.

Does Pages on the iPad have an Inspector panel? In the Mac version, it's a round blue button in the icon bar at the top of the window.

If you've got that in the iPad's Pages app, then you can use it to manually raise or lower the baseline of one or more characters, then use the font size to make them smaller. Superscripting after a numeral can be automatic (in the Mac version) by setting that in the Prefs.

You can probably tell I don't have my iPad yet. 😉

Unfortunately there is no way to do subscripts or superscripts directly in pages (I tried). If you have another apps that supports this you can copy and paste into pages. An app that supports unicode characters should be able to do this.

I gave you one example earlier, Unicode Table. For others, just search the app store for Unicode.

Having to copy-paste little characters from another application in the XIX century!
It is impossible to directly write something squared by using a tiny '2' superscript.
Amazing! And they say they'd give us modern products. Wow...
Come on google!, bring your tablet to the table.
So many people is waiting for it.

If you want an android tablet instead, it's available now: the Samsung Galaxy Tab uses the google android operating system. So try one and see if it suits you better than the ipad.

You couldn't do any copy and paste in the nineteenth (XIX) century ... Without a good adhesive. 🙂

Now in the 21st (XXI) century, you might have to wait for a more robust WP app. Maybe Docs to Go or the like could do it?
