Error 3000 ( No Recovery Mode )

I have iphone 3gs 3.1.2 working fine but suddenly hanged.
After restart it froze on apple logo

I can't get it into recovery mode to restore.
When I try DFU mode to restore the itunes gives error 3000.

Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network.

Any firewalls? Disable them.
Any security software? Disable it.

Those are the two leading causes of your issue.

I tried using iMac with same error no.

is there an apple server other than gs.apple?

No. You're gonna have to figure out what is blocking itunes attempts to contact Apple's servers. You will not be able to restore unless itunes can contact these servers during the entire download, verification & update process. Firewall on your router?
