Better alternatives to Quicken Essentials

I have used Quicken for PC for 20+ years and recently converted to Mac. Naively, I purchased Quicken Essentials and found its many shortcomings surprising. Most importantly, it does not perform basic reporting functions such as an annual (or any time period) report of income and expenses, by month and category. So, I have two questions:
1. What is an alternative home finance solution?
2. Will an alternative home finance package import data from Quicken Essentials?
thx, ron

Hi Ronald,

Welcome to the Numbers '09 forum.

Like the rest of the forums at Apple Discussions, Numbers '09 is dedicated to discussion of issues and techniques defined by its name. Although Numbers could be used to manage home finances (and does contain a few templates for those purposes), it's really a general spreadsheet application, not dedicated financial software. generating the reports you require would likely require your defining those reports on your own.

You'll find a number of financial applications in the Business/Finance section at VersionTracker. You may find what you need there.

Regards,
Barry
