Purchasing Apps on someone elses iPad

if you authorize his iTunes to play/use content purchased with your iTMS account, it should work.

Perhaps you'd be better off buying the item as a gift so that although you're paying for it on your account it becomes his app...

what i mean is authorize iTunes (not the iPad) on his computer to play purchases you made using your iTMS account. if your son's iTunes isn't authorized, you might not be able to transfer the content to his iTunes.

that's basically very easy. all you have to do is +log out+ of one account (click on the account name in the iTunes Store window and select +sign out+ from the pop-up dialog) and into the other, and then they will both be authorized.

if you have your own computer, you could enable _*Home Sharing*_ and set up iTunes to automatically transfer new purchases via your home network. you would download content on the iPad, transfer that to your iTunes and the content will be automatically pushed to your son's iTunes.
