iPAD docking with a Bose SoundDock 10 using a dock extension cable
I just hocked up my iPAD to my Bose SoundDock using a RadTech DockExtender Alternative Design 47-inch Cable for 30-Pin iPod / iPhone - White from MyGearStore.com (Cheaper than the outrageous cost of a Bluetooth adapter for the Bose SoundDock). As expected, it works great allowing the Bose Remote Control to seamlessly control the integrated iPOD music player (same as iPhone and iPOD Touch).
However, there are a couple of observations that are a disappointment:
1) The iPAD Will not charge when plugged into the SoundDock. This seems like something Apple/Bose should address in the current or future versions of the products.
2) When playing YouTube on the iPAD with the SoundDock connected, the video stops displaying. Yet when playing YouTube using the headphone jack or the built-in speaker there is no problem with YouTube video. Other Apps like Newsby can display video and use the SoundDock for the audio without any issue. So, it looks like Apple should be addressing this in the code of the integated YouYube app that comes with the iPAD.
