IPad 64GB freezing during streaming video over wifi ?

Hi all,

I've searched the forums here but couldn't see exactly this problem - appologies if I've missed it.

I've had my iPad 64GB wifi only model for two days, and It has completely frozen twice already - as in non-responsive to touch, home button, or power button.

The first freeze occurred whilst trying to view a tv show preview video via the iTunes app - the second time was trying to watch a film trailer via the IMDb app. Both times required a home and power button hold to reboot the iPad.

I've seen similar issues here, and was wondering if I should be concerned enough to take my iPad back for replacement? I bought it from PC World, so should I expect a straight replacement or are they likely to try and have me send it off for repair?

Thanks in advance for any advise,
Best Regards,
Steve

If you have an Apple Store nearby, book an appointment with the Genius Bar and get them to check it over.

If you don't have an Apple Store nearby, take it back to the retailer and explain what's happening and see what they have to say.

Or, you could call Apple Tech Support give them the details of the problem and see if they can suggest a fix.

Before doing any of the above, you might want to try restoring the iPad to default settings and then set it up again (back up your iPad prior to this to preserve apps and date etc) to see if this rectifies the issue.

Hope you get it sorted
