syncing ipod touch with more than one computer

I have a home computer and an office computer. My home computer has all my music, podcasts, etc. and when I sync my Ipod Touch with it, everything gets on the Ipod Touch. However when I then want to sync my Ipod Touch with my office computer, mainly to sync Ical and Address Book, it removes all the stuff (music, podcasts) from the Touch that is not on the Office computer. I've tried using Preferences and the Info tab to set things so that this wouldn't happen. I.e., trying just to sync Ical and Address Book but it keeps syncing Music and removing stuff I don't want removed from the Touch. What can be done?

Imac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), ipod touch

Okay, I think this will work. What is confusing is the different places where you have to mark what and how you want syncing to work.

One comment:I don't see why Apple can't make it so that one computer, e.g., your home computer, is your ITunes base and then you use your Ipod to update ITunes on your other computers, so that it is comparable to your base. Why only have sync work one way, from computer to Ipod? Maybe if you subscribe to MobileMe you can do this?
