5TH GEN and Vauxhall Insignia

Hi again , I have just bought a 59 reg Insignia with a usb port for ipod but when I plug my 5th gen ipod it it states that it is not supported yet I can plug my wife's 3rd gen classic in and that works!!!
Anyone else had these issues and been able to resolve them?

Both iPods are *2 different models.* Just because it works for one model does not mean it will work for all models. You should have read the tech specs before purchase to make sure Vauxhall Insignia is compatible with the 5th gen iPod with video. Your only recourse is to read the manual regarding compatibility or contact Vauxhall & ask them . Perhaps you can get your money back if it is not compatible.

Hi , the manual states it's compatible with gens 5 , 5.5 and 6 and of course the earlier gens.Have looked on the Vauxhall owners site and this seems to be a fairly common problem - software issue -some can get their 5th gen to play and others cannot. A trip to the main dealers methinks!

Does the manual state iPod Nano? Again, iPod 5th generation and iPod Nano 5th generation are 2 different models. If the manual does not specifically state "Nano" it may not be compatible.
