Can I drag songs from a shared playlist onto my nano?

I recently was successful at sharing my iTunes playlist from my G4 iMac with my PC. I'm synching my Nano with the PC and have found that I'm unable to drag songs from my shared playlist into the Nano. All the songs I've purchased are on my iMac, but because I'm running OS 3.9 and iTunes 7.2, I can't access the iTunes store on the iMac any longer. So I want to synch from the PC.

So my question is, can I drag songs from my shared playlist into the Nano?

Thanks!

iMac G4, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

Can I drag songs from a shared playlist onto my nano?.No.

You can turn on *Home Sharing* and copy the songs to your computer then add to the nano.

Yep, I've tried that too, dragging the shared playlist into my Library. When I click on the shared playlist I get the circle with the line through it. I've tried dragging individual tracks and that doesn't work either.

I noticed from the instructions for "Using Home Shares" that I don't have the buttons it refers to (Settings and Import)in the lower right of my iTunes. I'm running the latest version of iTunes on my PC so I don't know why that would be.

Could the problem be that the shared playlist I'm trying to import is on my iMac running iTunes 7?

Thanks for any assistance you can offer. I'm not completely computer-illiterate, but it must seem that way.

Yes.
You cannot copy from a regular shared playlist. It specifically needs to be Home Sharing and iTunes 9 is required for Home Sharing.

From the link above;
"Use the above steps to enable Home Sharing on additional computers on your local network."
and on the troubleshooting page;
"Home Sharing in iTunes requires two or more computers, with each:

• On the same Wi-Fi or Ethernet network.
• Using *_iTunes 9_* or later.
• Having Home Sharing enabled, the same iTunes or App Store account, and the password correctly entered."
