Magic Bullet Looks has stopped working with FCP

I am using FCP 7.0.2. USed Magic Bullet for about 6 months and now not working!

When I drag my 'looks' plugin onto my clip on the timeline the clip appears as normal in my viewer with the 'looks' filter added to it.

When I then click 'edit' in the filters tab 'LooksBuilder' opens fine with the selected clip. I can then apply looks and it all seems to be working fine but when I save the look it does not appear on the timeline in FCP. I should not need to render it to preview but even after rendering the effect has not been applied.

can anyone help?

yes, running the latest version.

tried everything suggested on the Reg Giant forum.

All disk permissions cleaned.
Complete uninstall and reinstall of MB Looks both manually and using the uninstaller.
System updates performed.
Tried on existing known good and new FCP Projects.

I've gone through the Looks troubleshooting guide where it tells you to manually delete everything then re-install, still no joy.

Any other suggestions?

Sorry these questions are so basic but:

but when I save the look it does not appear on the timeline in FCP

You mean you click +OK to apply the look+, as oppose to save it as a Look settings file, correct?

Click on your timeline and type Command + 0 (Zero). In the Sequence Settings window click on the Render Control Tab and verify "Filters" is checked.

Hope this helps.

thanks for everyone's help.

just got it sorted after a day of trauma.

it was a permissions thing after all. I had followed everything on the Red Giant instructions but it seems there was 1 more permission to change that was not listed. thanks for my I.T guy for spotting it. no thanks to whatever the reason was for the permissions on my machine to suddenly loose me a day's work.

Can you tell me exactly which file was the culprit?
I'm having an issue where I've been working in a sequence with the Looks filters applied for many weeks, now the settings for each clip are gone. Double clicking on the clip reveals the filter, but after going into the effect GUI, all of my settings are just missing. It's as if I just dragged the filter onto the clip and didn't do anything to it.
