Tilde and No mail---Help?

One of my email accounts has quit getting email and it has a little tilde in a circle next to the account name (what does it mean?). I know that there is email there because I can go online to roadrunner and get the mail that way. I went under "window: connection doctor" and it has a green dot by it indicating ok. What could be wrong and how do I fix it??

One more data point that may or may not be relevant is that a few days ago the account suddenly started asking me for a password to get email. It is not set up to require a password and I don't know how to fix this problem either. It would get email when I gave my administrator PW for a few days, but now nothing works on that account.

It means that that account has been taken offline in Mail. Choose Mailbox -> Take All Accounts Online.

When Mail asks you for a password, there should be a check box to tell it to remember the password. Check that and enter your password. If you've already done that, but Mail sometimes seems to forget (asking for it again), Mail is probably having difficulty connecting to your mail server for some reason. Just hit cancel and try again later. Sometimes, in my experience, when it does this it will work fine if I try again 5 seconds later.
