1. Make sure your local router is setup to accept a networked based printer. In other words you need to be sure that any access features are set to accept your printer to be interfaced over ethernet e.g. Access control and MAC address.
2. Hook up an ethernet cable to your printer and your router.
3. Open up System Preferences/Network on your Mac and click on the "+"button in the window to add your Epson.
4. Click on the "Default" button in the window. Hopefully your Epson will appear, and then you'rehome free.

Actually, you can connect an Ethernet cable directly between your Mac and the printer. Some years ago it was necessary to use a cross cable, often abbreviated as X-cable. But in recent years as the printers have started to use auto sensing network cards you can use a straight cable to connect. With the cable in place it is then just a matter of setting an IP address and subnet mask in the Mac and printer that can communicate with each other, rather than using the self assigned addresses that can be set if you allow the devices to do so. An example would be to set the Mac IP address to 192.168.1.5 and the printer IP address to 192.168.1.10. Both devices would have a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.
