Jun 4, 2010 1:41 PM in response to kaptinkirkby jaxjason,It seems to remember the last place you were at when you left the app. you do know tha tap the time bar area to jump to the top trick, right? If not just tap the area whre the AT&T or iPad words ppear above the mail list and it should jump to the top immediately.

Dec 10, 2012 2:13 PM in response to kaptinkirkby AhronTheC,If tapping the AT&T or iPad text instead sends you back up a level to the mailboxes, first tap in the Search box, and then on the AT&T / iPad text.
I can't believe it's taken me, and so many others it seems from the forum posts, so long to find this shortcut. Clearly not the most intuitive!

Feb 28, 2016 2:48 PM in response to AhronTheCby Polacky radman,Yes mail seems to remember where you were when you last opened it on my iPad. And yes if you tap in the open area just above where it says inbox it will scroll to the newest email in your inbox. Thanks for posting!

Sep 17, 2016 9:52 PM in response to Polacky radmanby dingogap,That's just a short cut to the top - it doesn't resolve the strange way iPad mail opens up, usuallly on a very old msg. Still happening on IOS 10. About time Apple fixed it!
