Usb key not recognized by 10.6.3

Greetings,
I have a Mac Book Pro that I recently updated to Snow Leopard. Prior to the install, I had been running a software called Vinyl Express LXi Expert that is used to communicate with a vinyl cutter. The software requires a key, which amounts to a small usb drive with serial data stored on it, to be insterted and recognized by the software in order to function. The key usually glows red when plugged in and currently doesn't nor has it been recognized by my Mac. My business depends on that vinyl cutter, so any help would be greatly appreicated!! Thanks in advance.

Well this could be bad. If the manufacturer of the vinyl cutter software and USB dongle have not upgraded their stuff to be Snow Leopard compatible you could have a problem.

What do they have to say about this?

Your only recourse may be to roll your system back to the version of OSX that worked.

If you haven't already done so, check to make sure the USB port is working. Try inserting something like a USB thumb drive to make sure it is recognized.

And just to make sure we understand, you have not been able to use the vinyl cutter at all since upgrading to Snow Leopard?

I had the same issue. Key still worked in my old machine so I knew it wasn't the key itself.

I downloaded a Hasp driver update at http://www.aladdin.com/support/hasp-srm/enduser.aspx and it worked like a charm!
