My Iphone time off by 5 minutes... my wife's is fine.

My iphone is off by 5 minutes from my wife's iphone. We had a bet as to whose iphone was incorrect.

Turns out I have to do the dishes all week.

My Iphone 3G is 4-5 minutes behind every clock I can find that keeps accurate time. I looked up the official time online as well as a few other friend's iPhones. Mine is off.

My wife and I both have iPhone 3Gs.... and live in the same house. We have not jailbroke our phones or anything. I have never dropped it, I keep it in a case.

Any ideas how to fix this timing issue?

I've done a shut down restart. Let the battery drain dead. I sync to my computer on a daily basis.

I've searched for answers but have never found anything.

Thanks.

Did you setup your phone for automatic time synching with the carrier?

I have 3 iPhones and 2 of them have the time issue if on the 3G network in Keller or Southlake. I just left the Apple store and they informed me that this is a local issue to DFW and it is a sim card issue. When I swap the sim card from the one good phone into one of the other 2 phones, the time moves with the card. Apple told me that it is due to where the sim card is initialized in the metroplex. I went to ATT in Southlake, they said that they had not heard of this issue, but swapped the sim card anyway. Turns out this did not help because Southlake is one of the areas that appears to be problem. If you go toward DFW airport, the time will correct itself. So my assumption is that need to get a new sim card in an area that the time is actually reading correctly at that time. ATT appears to have server issues on the Keller, Southlake towers, but they will not admit it!

Hi TexasIphone3G

I'm using a micro cell. Just bought it last weekend. It seems to be working pretty good. We've had to play around with it a bit as far as a good location in the house. But I think we've got it in a good spot.

Haven't noticed any clock issues on the microcell but I'm going to watch out for it.

I bought the 3G Microcell back in March 2010. I haven't had any time issues. However, I do have a location issue. When I'm connected to the Microcell, it says my location is in a city that's 130 miles west of me. I called AT&T about it. They said it's a glitch, they've never heard of this and they'd get on it. Hmm... yeah.

So any apps that use locations, pinpoint me in the wrong location. Fantastic.

Same issue here....my wife and I got new 3GS's on Sunday (7-18) and I've noticed that "my" time is slow "around" 4 mins.....her's "seems" to be more or less correct (haven't looked at her's closely yet). As has been mentioned, if I turn 3G off, the time is correct.....just seems strange that the problem isn't with "both" phones. I'm in northern Denton County TX (just north of DFW area).

same thing here. just noticed today. my phone is around 5:25 seconds fast. even if i set the time manually it's still 26 seconds faster. reboot does nothing. haven't tired syncing. in louisville, ky btw. will see how long it lasts.

using the latest ios4 update as well - which is a terrible, terrible, terrible experience that is 10x worse that version 3 - but i updated to this weeks ago.

will wait and see.
