Ipod says connect to itunes but has a password. Need Help.

My ipod says to connect to itunes but when i do it wont recognize because of the password i have on the ipod. Im basically locked out of my own ipod. what do i do?

13" MBP, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Try connecting the iPod touch to the computer you normally sync it with.

If you cannot remember the passcode or don't have access to the computer that the iPod is normally synced with, you can restore it from recovery mode and set it up as a new device without any data. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 will walk you through restoring from recovery mode.
