wireless keyboard A1016 and new MacBook Pro

I have searched but can't find whether my old Apple wireless keyboard (white case) is compatible with my new MacBook Pro. My computer finds the keyboard but then asks for a passcode and it doesn't connect. Maybe I need a firmware update??

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.11), iMac Flat Panel (10.3.9), iPhone 3G, MacBook Pro 2.53, 10.6.3

I'm using one right now. Make sure the batteries are new when you are pairing the thing. I had to do it a couple of times and found that waiting a bit after it found the keyboard before it would work.

No problem. I love my white plastic Bluetooth keyboard with the NUMERIC KEYPAD! I plan on using until I die or Apple offers another Bluetooth keyboard with the numeric keypad. I'm sure there are lots of others that feel the same way. 🙂

Thank you for your help. I powered off my computer and the keyboard and tried again, waited and it is now working. I was ready to give up until your post! I had tried multiple times with no luck.

Thanks so much!! I just got a new imac and wasn't able to get my A1016 keyboard connected. By reading your message I got it to work. I love this keyboard so thanks sooo much.
