Can't sync apps on my iPad

When you connect the ipad to a computer running itunes, you highlight the ipad under devices.

Then at the top center of itunes you'll see a tab labeled apps.
There is a button at the top-left of that tab-page labeled "Sync Apps".
Click it to put a check mark in it.

Then you can select any/all apps you want on the ipad.
_Click the Apply button at the bottom before going to another tab._

I'm not sure if this is quite the same as the original post - it could be.

I'm only able to sync some of the apps.

All apps were downloaded directly to the ipad using the apps store icon.

After syncing last night, some applications have migrated from the device into the itunes Apps library and disappeared from the device. I cannot work out how to include them in a sync. They do NOT appear in the apps tab on the device screen in itunes but are listed in the Apps library

Any suggestions anyone?

Read more forum entries and found that its because sometimes when I connect it, iTunes thinks I have an iPhone and not an iPad and promptly deletes all the applications that are not suitable for iPhone.

Any ideas how this can be fixed as it's just happened to me. How annoying. My brand new iPad isn't all that after all!!!

I have the same problem - is Apple working on a fix to Itunes?

If you lost any apps in syncing, they can be re-downloaded for free if you use the original purchasing store account.

Wheen you purchase directly to the ipad, make sure you "Transfer Purchases to your ipad" in the itunes file menu.

When you authorize the ipad to sync apps, make sure on the itunes apps tab you have sync apps selected, all the apps you want sync'ed are checked and you _click on "Apply" at the bottom before leaving the apps tab._

red555 - the problem is that iPad apps cannot exist on an iPhone. iTunes thinks my iPad is an iPhone and deletes the content that should not be on there.

All the apps I have purchased appear in the Apps folder but whilst iTunes thinks I have an iPhone it does not offer most of them for syncing to the iPad.

yes. I have posted to all of them over the last few days. No one has yet come up with a solution.

The latest 9.2 version of itunes seems to have fixed the problem. I have been running it for 2-3 days and ipad is recognised correctly every time.

not sure if i have the same problem, but its been reoccurring for the 3rd time already, and i only got the ipad for less than a month.. 😟

i usually buy app on itunes and sync them over to the ipad, but sometimes get them on the ipad directly...

ptoblem is when i connect it to the laptop, itunes come up, and it backs up the ipad automatically, after that, i click on the Apps tab.. and i see the Sync Apps checkbox selected but the whole area is greyed out. i can't uncheck the box nor select the apps i want to sync, every other tab is working ok but just the Apps tab.

this is extremely frustrating... because i had to restore the ipad on the info tab... it takes time and its just seems wrong,,

frustrated...
