Is the preorder done on Apple's web site or ATT? I will be new to ATT wireless, can I presetup an account now so on Tuesday my order hopefully will take less time to fill out?

    Thanks
    Andy

A pre-order option will be available with both.

If you will be a new AT&T subscriber, you can visit a local AT&T store now for credit check and approval in advance before becoming an AT&T subscriber.

Yes you can (Apple accepts: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

What information is required when i preorder...

You will need the last 4 digits of her social security #. It wouldn't hurt to have the account # just in case but I'm not sure if you need it.

So if I pre order my iphone 4 on the 15th does it arrive on the 24th (the day it comes out)? or does it not ship till the 24th?
  • Allan Sampson Level 10 (123,405 points)
If you pre-order on the 15th, the iPhone will be delivered as early as the 24th. Pre-ordering on the 15th increases the chances for the iPhone being delivered on the 24th, but this is not a guarantee it will be delivered on the 24th.

Allan, what site are you pre ordering from ? What time ? Are you having it shipped to your house?

Also, how does the preordering work. I am on a family plan and I am eligable for an upgrade without paying an 18$ fee because I am an existing iPhone user. I am not the primary though and my dad is going to use a credit card.

This is probably a pretty obvious answer, but will Apple allow the use of gift cards to be used towards the iPhone preorder?

My wife and I want to pre-order 2 phones because we will be switching to the AT&T Family plan from T-Mobile. Will we be able to order 2 phones?

If we do not have an AT&T account right now do we have to order the phones through AT&T or can we still order them through Apple?

    Wait, I have a question:

I have an at&t account that is eligible for the early upgrade. However, I will be pre-ordering through the Apple website. Does this mean that I'll have to pay the early upgrade amount, or the full retail amount?

If you are eligible for AT&T's fully subsidized or discounted price, the price is the same regardless where the iPhone is purchased - at an AT&T store, at an Apple store, at a Best Buy, at a Walmart, or at Radio Shack.

When pre-ordering the iPhone, you select as an existing AT&T subscriber along with entering your AT&T cell phone number with area code. Your account is checked with AT&T in regards to your upgrade eligibility to determine the price to be charged for the pre-order. This would be no different if you didn't pre-order and arrived at any of the retailers where the iPhone is available on or after the 24th to purchase a new iPhone. One of the first questions you would be asked if not the first question is are you an existing AT&T subscriber and if so, what is your cell phone number with area code to determine if you qualify for AT&T's fully subsidized or discounted price for the price to be charged for the iPhone.

Ah, I thought so, but wasn't positive.
