How does the preorder work?

I'm assuming that the preorder for the iPhone 4 will work the same way as other preorders have, for the 3GS, the 3G, etc. Do you have to pay the entire sum when you preorder it, a portion of it, or is it just like a reserve?
Thank you for clearing this up for me!

If you are eligible for AT&T's upgrade or discounted pricing, you will be charged AT&T's upgrade or discounted price. You will need to enter your existing cell phone number with area code when ordering and before being charged, which Apple will check with AT&T's records to confirm you are eligible for AT&T's upgrade or discounted pricing , as Apple does and must to do now when purchasing an iPhone at an Apple store, and the same with Best Buy when purchasing an iPhone at a Best Buy store.

It is delivered on the 24th, or should be unless there is a minor shipping delay for whatever reason, or the package is lost in transit, which happens with the best of them from time to time with Fed-Ex and UPS or insert any carrier's name. The plan and goal will be to deliver on the 24th and unless something unusual happens, that should be the case.

Yes.

You can use the 3G as an iPod Touch - there is no device limit for the number of iPods, iPhones, and iPads that can be synced with the same iTunes library and iTunes account on the same computer.

The iPhone 4 will use a micro-SIM card - just as with the iPad. Keep the no longer activated SIM card with your 3G inserted in the 3G even after the iPhone is no longer activated. In order to install a firmware update on a no longer activated iPhone or restore a no longer activated iPhone with iTunes if wanted or needed, the no longer activated SIM card needs to be inserted in the iPhone - the SIM card that was used with the iPhone when it was activated.

You can enable Airplane mode followed by turning on wi-fi access when internet access is required.
