iPad - iPod App not working!

I have a 64Gb iPad WiFi model and recently i noticed that whenever I press
the iPod App the screen changes for a brief moment and returns back to the Home Screen. I have restored the Defaults but it makes no difference.
I can see the songs in Finder but there are 0 songs listed under Settings - About iPad.
I have 150 Apps loaded.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
regards
Chris

i got the app to load but since i currently don't have music on the ipad im not sure if it works but i went to settings/about, waited for all the diagnostics to load (which for movies, pics and music took longer than expected) and then i got out of settings and fired up the ipod app which worked... wish me luck adding and playing music....

I have done Restore to Factory settings twice, deleted all my songs and still no joy running the iPod App.
When I add songs and I check the iPad settings I see 0 songs/0 videos after a long period of waiting.
Maybe it is the interaction with one of my Apps.

Can I list installed Apps by installation date and delete them in backwards order?

Yeah, I'm stuck in the same place. Last week the Ipod app crashed on open. I ran the video app and it worked when I played a podcast. After that, the Ipod app then worked. All was well for a while but now NEITHER the iPod app or the Video app will launch successfully. Note sure really what to do this time.

The last time, before I figured out that video fix, a complete restore did not work. Granted, I restored from backup for I don't want to restore as NEW since I have hours invested in inputting data in financial apps that I really don't want to lose by really starting as if it was a new ipad. Sadly, they don't yet have good backup restore options in some of the apps.

Yes, restoring as a new iPad would do that too. But if you restore from backup to save any data you have in apps like financial, gas milage, medical data etc then the corruption comes back with it. I went the Settings reset all the defaults route. All my data except icon placement remained intact and all is well again. Of course it took me an hour and a half to put all the icons back!

Hopefully the folder feature in the new upcoming firmware update will reduce this straightening out if/when it happens again in the future.

I had the issue with the ipod not opening up, or opening for a second then closing. For giggles I tried a restore and then used my data backup. I still had the same problem. I did it again and as others have posted started from scratch and all is fine now.
I guess the moral is do a complete restore and don't use your backup.

Add another user to the list of the iPod not working on the iPad. I am going to find hopefully a fix on the net that does not require a system restore and then have to reinstall the 100 or more apps which would take hours. If this is a STD problem I guess we can say welcome to PC world. system restores are Microsoft and every PC mfr.'s excuse for not building their software stable enough. Well here goes... Probably off to the Apple store by the weekend. Lol
