Apr 26, 2013 9:52 AM in response to AnatSby dotmom61,AnatS ... your solution worked for me, too.
Out of the blue today, my iPad just stopped connecting to our Wifi. It had something similar to 10.1.10.2 (not exact) in the IP Address, Router and DNS fields. The Search Domains field had also been wiped clean.
I'm not sure what caused this, but after I entered everything in under the Static settings (used what I saw on my iPhone), all of the DHCP settings returned to normal, and it seems to be working fine now.
The only thing that I did this morning that could have affected the iPad was to run some software updates for several apps -- nothing to do w/ iOS, on the surface, but something apparently screwed it up anyway.
ADDENDUM: I was playing around w/ it, and when I switched back to DHCP, all of the settings were changed -- which I should have expected, duh. Don't be like me. Just leave it on Static.
Thanks, AnatS!

Jul 10, 2013 7:58 PM in response to dotmom61by Joe. P,I had a similar issue on my macbook pro running 10.8.4
The way I resolved it after a few hours of trying everything else I read on this forum is I opened Terminal and typed in both these commands: This reset my DNS settings
sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist
sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist

Nov 8, 2013 9:03 AM in response to antsworkby Nirsus,I had this problem on my brand new iPad air. What turned out to be the cause of the problem for me was that the router had Wifi Protected Setup enabled. Turning that off fixed the problem.
Wifi Protected Setup is supposed to work with devices that support connecting with a pin number set by the router. In my experience this has been the cause of two iPads not being able to connect to the internet through the router.
Hope this helps.

Dec 16, 2013 3:25 AM in response to Nirsusby Robmobius100,What worked for me was changing the router security protocol from wpa2 to wpa. Some apple devices seem to have issues with wpa2.

Feb 5, 2014 3:13 PM in response to Mary_1997by kevcorcoran,Hi,
I am having a strange problem regarding wi-fi access with my iPad4. Once my ipad goes into sleep mode then the signal drops. If I am right beside the wi-fi modem then it can reconnect with no issues. However, if I am in the next room, even though I can see the network and it has a full signal, I cannot connect. I get prompted for a username and password (it doesn't connect when I input them) or I get a message saying "unable to connect".
I have reset the modem multiple times. When I check the set-up of my modem I can see that the iPad is visible and has been assigned and IP address. I have reset the network settings on the iPad multiple times as well. I have also tried changing the DNS settings and turning off proxy. Nothing seems to work.
This problem has only started recently. Anybody got any suggestions as to how I can solve this?
Thanks
Kevin
