Screen goes blank (white) on some websites

I have found that on some websites, I see the site for a quick second or two, then the screen suddenly goes completely white. If I click in the address bar, & hit return it repeats the behavior. Sometimes, I can go to a site & view it until I try to navigate it, then it goes blank. With these websites, if I shut down & restart I can go to the site, but the same thing happens when I again try to navigate it. This ALSO happens when I use FireFox on the same website. In doing some research I have seen the phrase that "Some websites just don't like Macs." Is there anything that can be done? One of these sites is where I work!

mac pro, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

I have a similar problem with Safari in that my screen blanks out white on websites with plugins. I was on the line with Apple Support for 1.5hrs yesterday and my technician said that the problem was much deeper rooted that simply clearing a few file that may be corrumpted so we installed a brand new operating system and then downloaded all new updates and restarted my machine....quess what??? IT STILL DID NOT FIX IT. So I tried using FireFox and the same problem exist. If anyone could help I would certainly appreciate it. The most important website in my house is my kids school webpage and this is the one (among several others) that won't work. I finally mad the switch over to Mac and went deep with a new 27' all-in-one package, new Iphone and new Ipad. To be honest, I wish I never made the switch because it is causing so many problems in my house.

HI,

If you are running 10.5.6 as your profile indicates, that could be the problem. Safari 4 minimum requirements for Leopard is v10.5.8.

To see which version of Safari you are running, from the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/About Safari.

Click your Apple Menu/Software Updates.

Hi

the site seems fine here, so it is likely some conflict on your system - do you have any 3rd party add-ons, enhancers, plugins that you know of ?

If you can make a new user account via System Preferences-Accounts and test there, it'll tell us if the issue is system-wide, or restricted to one user account.
