Safari 5.0 problem...Pages will not load

May be a 3rd party incompatibility problem.

Do you have any 3rd party add-ons installed, such as Glims, CosmoPod, SafariStand etc.? If so, let me know which ones are installed in your system.

Uninstall CosmoPod via the Finder: Go to this location: HD>Library>Applications Support>SIMBL>Plugins folder. Move the CosmoPod bundle to the desktop, then restart Safari. See if that corrects the load problem. if it doesn't, move CosmoPod back to its original location.

The location I cited is the usual location. Try here:
User Account>Library>Applications Support>SIMBL>Plugins.

If nothing there, then look at either HD>Library>InputManagers, or same location in the User Library.

You're welcome. Good to know CosmoPod was the culprit. I'll email the developer and let him know.

CosmoPod is coming up very often in the last couple of weeks.
Before Safari 5, in fact.

Haven't had any problems with CosmoPod w Safari 4.0.5. Similar types of problems being noted?

I emailed the developer asking for Safari 5 clarification and possible update.

Exact same issue here: Safari 5 on a 1.8Ghz PPC G5 tower running 10.5.8. Pages would not load; I tracked down all the bits and bobs related to CosmoPod and moved them to the desktop — Safari now starts just fine.

Thanks - This tip fixed the problem for me. My CosmoPod was in HD>Library>InputManagers

Same here! Removed CosmoPod, and all was okay! Great I had FireFox as a backup. I wouldn't be able to find this fix!
One more issue was with SIMBL SafariTabConfig.bundle. It wouldn't let me load either.

Hi there, I do not have Cosmopod anywhere nor in the INPUT MANAGER either, just a CTLOADER... I am very frustrated because Safari does not open.. I am running Leopard 10.5.8 any other ideas please? Kind Regards!

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!

Locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:

/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit

where / is your the root library on your Hard Disk.

I do not have Cosmopod anywhere nor in the INPUT MANAGER either, just a CTLOADER.

Via the Finder, remove the CT Loader from its Library location (probably HD>Library>InputManagers folder, or same in the User Library, then restart Safari.
