help remove duplicates

I have just moved from windows to iMac. Followed instructions to transfer my library using the ipod and all seemed well. However, I now seem to have lots of duplicates in the itunes and it says it cannot load all onto the ipod because there is not enough room. Is there a way of getting rid of duplicates or do I have to start again?
