iPhone 3GS main screen icons too large

Somehow I have done something that has caused the application icons to become very large. I cant figure how to get them back to their original size.

IPhone 3GS, iPhone OS 3.1.3

A double tap with 3 fingers will turn it off. It is an accessibility feature. You can go into settings, and turn it off permanently.

I've got a 3gs, but I was advising someone on another forum about the 3-fingered touch to expand his screen, but he couldn't get it to work. He had a 3G, does it not work on that phone ?.

Is zoom turned on in the accessibility menu? Settings>General>Accessibility. Once turned on, a simple double-tap with three fingers instantly zooms in and out 200%.
