Edit Home Screen

I've been looking on how to get rid of this screen for about an hour now, the ipod has updated to 3.1.3 and now when i try to use it, I get a message saying Edit Home Screen with a Dismiss button which i cant tap to dismiss i have no wifi setup so i cant ssh into the ipod and i dont know what else to do i tried a restore and same thing still doesnt work, if anyone has any idea's on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

iPod Touch 8GB 1G, Windows 7

What do you mean? you cant ssh into any iPod touch/iPhone/iPad unless you jailbroke it.

Yeah it is jail broken i did that first thing after uipgrading but after the jailbreak this Edit Home Screen message keeps coming up even after dfu mode i have tried everything but i cant get access to the ipod via a network cause wifi isn't set up.

if you tried restoring it, AND you jailbroke it, then your pretty much screwed because you already voided the warranty.

It was used i got it for free from a friend it has no warranty lol, thats why i jailbroke it.

if you restored it, you have a 50/50 chance that if you bring it to apple, they wont be able to tell that you jailbroke it.
