The curse of the first batch

Hi,

I was curious to see if anyone was unfortunate enough to experience problems with buying the first batch of iphones from any generation? I was planning on preordering the iphone 4 until I remembered problems with buying other electronics as soon as they came out, not necessarily apple.

I would appreciate any insight or feedback.

I was a first batcher with the original iPhone and pretty close to it if not with the 3G. Both iPhones ended up being exchanged under warranty, but that was a while after the initial purchase. It was about 6 months later with my original iPhone which was questionalble about needing to be exchanged but it was anyway, and with my 3G it was a year and a half after the purchase due to a wi-fi card failure. I purchased the AppleCare extended warranty for my 3G.

I don't think this had anything to do with being a first batch since the same has applied to every batch.

The iPhone includes a one year warranty.

I will be pre-ordering an iPhone 4.

There is no such thing as a curse of the first batch. We have two "first batch 3G" phones and both have been fine. We have friends with first batch 3G and 3GS phones who have no problems either.

If you're worried then wait to buy in Aug/Sept.
