iPad - Outlook - All Day Events not "selected" as all day events on iPad

I use Outlook and sync dynamically via our company's Exchange 2007 Server.

When I check a calendar item in Outlook as "All Day Event", that same event is NOT selected as an "All-Day" in the iPad Calendar item.

Outlook - "All Day Event" selected.
iPad - "All-Day" not selected.

I can see this by going into the iPad calendar app, selecting the event, clicking Edit, and selecting the "Starts / Ends" field.

As a result of this, my All-Day events on the iPad are completely coloring the day with those events which is really troublesome when reviewing my calendar on the iPad.

I have also noticed the same problem with the calendar app on my iPhone.

Anyone seen this?

Been perplexed by the same problem. I have to manually change my iPad calendar item (sync'd with my outlook/exchange acct) to "all day" and then it displays correctly across the days. Appears to be a software glitch with the "all-day" switch when it syncs with the iPad, i.e. incoming appt sync doesn't recognize the it as all-day. Have you heard anything from Apple since this post, or found a solution anywhere else?

I'm having the same issue and its causing a big problem as all the "all day events" I have in my calendar overlap each other and block out other discreet meetings that occur during the day.
Its OK for "all day events" I create myself as I can edit them in Calendar to make them display correctly. However, if I'm sent an invite to an all day event I'm not able to edit the All Day Event property.
This is a huge problem as the convention in my company is for my team to send me an all day invite for the days they are on annual leave which is great in Outlook as it sits nicely out of the way at the top of the page. However in iPad calendar having mutliple all day event invitations blocking the whole day makes it very difficult to see other calendar items.

Sort of same issue:

All day events scheduled from Entourage display incorrectly on iPhone/iPad as non-all-day events (which block out entire day/multiple days)

All day events scheduled from iPhone (iOS)/iPad show up correctly in Entourage as all-day events, but incorrectly with an extra day added.

It really messes up things like vacations, conferences, etc...

I'm also having the same issue with events created in iCal using an Exchange 2007 account!

Following combos:

From OWA looks fine in Entrourage and iCal
From Entrourage looks fine in OWA and iCal
From iCal looks fine in Entrourage and OWA
From iPhone looks fine in Entrourage, OWA, and iCal

iPhone and iPad (3.1.3/4.0.2) both display the blocked out time, rather than 'All-Day'

I have the same problem.

Echange 2007 server running active sync
iPhone with OS4
iPad with 3.2.2

Also using imExchange to sysnc Tasks and Notes

All day events and multiple all day events entered in Outlook Calendar sync OK between the iPhone and the Exchange server.

If the iPad is turned off at any time when it is powered up again the events that are marked all day turn into an ordinary entry which spans the entire period from 00:00 on the first entry date to 00:00 on the last entry date.

This can be fixed by manually switching the event to all day AND replicate onto the iphone

Any one at Apple Listening???

Ditto - another one for the pile. Using Exchange Server 2007 and iPhone 4.1.

Additionally, if I create an all-day appointment on the iPhone that spans two days (typically Sat & Sun) and invite another party, when the invitation is accepted the appointment gets screwed up on the iPhone, depending on which view you're looking at. Here's the use case:

1) Create all-day event starting 27 Nov ending 28 Nov, invite somebody.
2) Invite is accepted, look at appointment on iPhone.

Month view: 27 Nov event shows as 00:00, 28 Nov is "all-day". Nothing on 29 Nov.
Day view: 27 & 28 Nov blocked out fully
List view: Event only shows as 00:00 on 27 Nov, nothing on 28 or 29.

Lastly, when you open the appointment and look at the detail, you see that it now runs from 00:00 on 27 Nov to 00:00 on 29 Nov. For a two day all-day event you created on the same device minutes earlier.

Come on Apple! I switched to the iPhone from Windows Mobile because of your slick UI and great choice of apps, and even forgave you the lack of task and category support. But if you can't even get my appointments right I'll think twice before placing my order for that MacBook Pro I've been ******* after.

Surely not just Exchange?

I export from my (home PC) Outlook calendar as an ics file and import that into iCal on my (home) Mac.

From there, it syncs with MobileMe to my (personal) iPhone.

The iPhone correctly shows all day events as such but both iCal and MobileMe on the web show the time as blocked out from 0000 to 0000 which clutters up the calendar something rotten.

Any other ideas?!

Whilst this is annoying, I have a work around for this.

Instead of entering multi-day ALL DAY events, enter a _single day_ ALL DAY event and then use the REPEAT option to extend the event for the full duration of your holiday, etc.

This solves the issue and ensures that the ALL DAY event displays correctly in Outlook 2011, ipad and iphone and does NOT colour the entire days
