All pdf's imported are blank on the Ipad

I have an Iphone and an Ipad. The iphone displays all of my imported PDFs on Goodreader and any other application that I view them on.

However, no matter what I try, the Ipad displays them as blank pages. I tried multiple readers. I import them via URL for Goodreader and some of the other pdf applications. All the same result, a blank PDF. The same exact pdf's work without difficulty on my iphone 😟 please help this is so frustrating and the primary reason why I bought this device.

I just experienced the problem of an iPad user being unable to view text entered in fields of a document I created with Acrobat Pro. I sent the file to my iPhone - same thing. Text fields were invsible.

I resolved it by opening the document in Acrobat Pro, going to the Document menu, and selecting Flatten Document. Bad-a-bing!

I've tried all the suggestions so far and non of them worked: My mostly-text PDF still shows up as blank pages on my iPhone. But I finally got it working with the additional help from Acrobat Distiller. I still don't know what the conflicts might be but here are the steps:

Export the PDF (in my case 200 pages) in Acrobat Pro as a postscript file (File > Export > Postscript > Postscript) and you'll end up with a PS file. Now open Distiller and set the default settings to PDF/A-1b:2005 (RGB) and drop the PS file and let it produce an iPhone friendly PDF.

I'm using USB Disk for transfer to my iPhone so your results might vary.

Hope this helps!

SOLUTION: You need to have a PDF Creator through your print options. The instructions below are my instructions for a PC using PDF Creator. The print to PDF on a MAC should do the same thing. Create and fill in your type-able fields PDF. Then go to File > Print > PDF Creator > SAVE AS then attach the PDF the PDF Creator made to your email and the iPhone will display your graphics and typed fields. If you do not have PDF Creator for PC installed on your computer, it is available for download and is free (I think).

I recently received my iPad2 and discovered this pdf compatibility problem.

The GoodReader "solution"of re-saving with Preview works, but my gosh - a Google book download went from 9 MB to 81 MB, simply by re-saving in Preview. That's seriously crazy.

I'm reminded of the days when the Mac could not read MS Office's PC files correctly.

Jeez, PDF and jpg are *standards*, why not keep supporting them?

If you load the PDF in preview,

simply click cmd+P for print.

Then in the lower left hand corner you'll see a little button with "PDF" on it.

Click that PDF button and select "Mail PDF"

This will open the PDF in a new email.

Enter the recipient and send!

The attached PDF opens fine in iOS devices and will print fine from them also.
