No new pictures or videos were found on this device

I am trying to download the photos, the computer keeps telling me that "no new pictures or videos are found of this device" - I have tried downloading on another computer, deleted some of the photos down to 194 or so, rebooted... I have not saved any pics not taken with my iPhone.

Any ideas?? I can see the photos. And I'm running out of patience!!
