Starting the iPad out of the box

I am headed to the US and my family is shipping me my iPad (I bought it in the US a few weeks ago and it was delivered to my family who lives in the US). While in the US, I will only have my work computer that does not have iTunes. I am hoping I can use the non-iTunes features on the iPad without doing the initial sync (our Mac is staying in Europe). Can this be done?
Also, if it could start, would I be able to go to the internet and go to my mobile me account and download a movie that was uploaded to it via our iTunes account?
Thank you for the help, I am hoping i get to play with the iPad on the many hours I will be spending in the airports and plane trips.

What kind of computer is your work computer? If it's a Windows machine with XP (SP 2) or later, you can easily download iTunes over the web. Macs, ironically, are a little more fussy. You can also use anyone else's computer that can download and run the latest iTunes to set up your iPad. Once it's initially set up, you don't need a computer to use it (you need a computer to sync stuff to it, though, but there are other ways to get stuff onto it that don't use a computer).
