The Interior Of An iPhone

After dropping my iPhone I have realised my inital problem is worse.
The home button, charging unit, microphone and speakers all do not work. They are all closely situated and therefore there must be some type of lack of connection interiorly. Everything else on the phone is fine.

Therefore what can I diagnose this as? I need to know what to call this when trying to get it repaired. It would appear that everything at the bottom of the phone is not working. An interior problem.

Could I repair this myself by opening it and perhaps pushing a stray piece back into place? Do I run the risk of damaging further?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

You can try, but I doubt there is anything inside the iPhone you would recognize. I doubt you would "see" any loose wires since most of the circuitry is integrated. However, there may be a dislodged connector.

Opening an iPhone is tricky. You probably would not be able to close it again.

You might want to check a third party repair shop like http://www.ubreakifix.com/ , but this is a USA based company. Here's one in the UK http://www.iphonerepairsuk.com/. I am sure there are others.

Are you close to an "upgrade" date?

Hello,
The online repair services would charge me a lot of money if I stated I needed a home button, charge dock, speaker and microphone in need of repair. Well over £200.

I know that there is a piece of hardware at fault, just one piece. I don't know what it is yet, but it is something which is not giving power to the bottom of the unit.

I tried to repair the screen of an iPod touch lastyear. Even opening the unit was dificult and I caused damage to the back case.

I am famliar with electronic hardware- like you I was hoping that it was simply a connector become dislodged.

I quickly decided that it was a job for the experts. Because I had opened the unit, some repairers refused to take it on.

I eventually used

in Leicester who were very helpful and reasonably priced. Nearly a year on the iPod Touch is still working happily.
