Battery not charging 100%...

I had my ac adapter in the computer for about 3 hours after it being 100% just keeping it in, near a plug in. Now it won't reach up to 100% and I just got this laptop 3-4 days ago. Is something wrong? I've been keeping the ac adapter in to make sure it goes up. but doesn't. It indicates that the battery is charged but it stays at 99%-97%, did I do something wrong? Someone told me I should charge it whenever I'm near an ac adapter / charge it when you want to and when you don't want to. So what am i supposed to do now?

Thank you!

I can't seem to do my rebate, I had a macbook white unibody and i found that macbook pro is what I need so I went to the apple to exchange it. I had the new receipt, I entered in my rebate. The receipt just says the difference, not the whole price amount. I entered that in, yet I can't see the status of my rebate. How do I go about that? Do I have to recalculate the price myself or just put in the code for the new receipt and the left over price I had to pay for the difference between white macbook and macbook pro 13"?
