I have exhausted every method of trying to uninstall this old version of Quicktime so I can install the latest version but it still tells me I have to uninstall QT7.
Not sure what you've already done here. But the first thing I'd try with that (you don't explicitly mention having done it yourself) is downloading and installing the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from Microsoft:
Now run the utility ("Start > All programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries, and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
