Uninstall Quicktime 7

I have exhausted every method of trying to uninstall this old version of Quicktime so I can install the latest version but it still tells me I have to uninstall QT7. I cant find any components of Quicktime anywhere. Am I overlooking something. Is it hidden in another program or web browser? Ive gone to control panel and the icon is no longer there, but I still cant update. I used Mozilla as my browser. Does that make a difference? Please advise because I cant even install iTunes without Quicktime. Thanks for all your help.

Not sure what you've already done here. But the first thing I'd try with that (you don't explicitly mention having done it yourself) is downloading and installing the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from Microsoft:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Now run the utility ("Start > All programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries, and click "Remove".

Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
