Help! I'm having the same problem. My laptop PC connects fine, but my iPad finds the network, shows a connection with strong signal, but when I try to access anything on the internet I get a "serve unavailable" error. I've tried everything in this thread with the exception of resetting the server. I'm staying at a hotel in Germany and they won't do it. I've used my iPad at different hotel here so I know it's not an issue with Germany.
Any help would be greatly appriecated.
I am also having similar problems, but can someone let me know how to change the wireless security settings as suggested?

just had the same problem - go to your home screen and then press the home key twice -- your screen will grey out and the apps will appear at the bottom of your screen. Press down on an App until the screen starts to wiggle....then delete the apps at the bottom of your screen...this will not delete them it will just close these apps....this should really be done at the end of each day.
Now press home key and apps will appear.
Go to general settings and reset network settings....follow instruction - iPad will reset and then you should be able to connect to your wireless as per normal. Give this a try and if it works then repost.....this is something that everyone should know but no-one has told them.

I just tried that and it didn't work 😟 I had no problems about 2 weeks ago....then I went on vacation and it worked great during that time. When I came back to work.... my laptop and iphone will connect, but not my ipad! It shows it's connected to wi-fi, but can't connect to internet.....
I am on my second new Ipad based on the same issue. I seem to have no problem connecting in certain places, like my office. At home, I have trouble connecting to my WiFi network, even though my laptop and phone have no connectivity issues. I am on the phone with Apple support now and they are suggesting I speakt to someone who handles router issues. Why should I have to pay for router support or change my router, etc. when all my other Apple devices connect easily???
IF YOU ARE A VERIZON FIOS SUBSCRIBER AND YOUR IPAD ISN'T CONNECTING (EVEN THOUGH YOUR LAPTOP/DESKTOP IS), HERE'S A DETAILED, SUGGESTED SOLUTION, COMPLETE WITH EXPLANATION (CULLED FROM SOME OF THE ANSWERS HERE).
(I wrote this because when something's not working, I like to know why. I have done my best to fully explain the problem, and offer a solution that worked for me.)
WHY ISN'T MY IPAD CONNECTING TO THE VERIZON NETWORK?
What's going on (at least if your problem is the same as mine) is that your router currently has an internet address that doesn't play nice with the Ipad (actually, the technical name for it is an "IP address," but we'll get to that).
AND WHY IS THIS? WHY CAN'T MY IPAD PLAY NICE WITH MY ROUTER? WHY CAN'T THEY GET ALONG? WHY, GOD, WHY?
Actually, it's because Apple is forcing you to do something that will help keep your router secure from people who might want to hack into your wireless router.
OKAY. I'M NOW OFFICIALLY LOST. YOU SAY THEY'RE GOING TO HELP ME, BUT THEY'VE CREATED A SITUATION WHERE I CAN'T GET GET THE IPAD ON THE NETWORK DOESN'T. THIS DOESN'T SOUND TOO HELPFUL, YOU KNOW.
I know. It's frustrating. But everything's going to be okay. Honest.
Here's the deal. You see, there's several different kinds of security for a router. If you have Verizon Fios, in all likelihood, the security that your router is currently using is something called WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy). Remember when you first connected your laptop/desktop after the cable guy/girl installed everything, and you had to enter that series of letters just above the barcode on the router (the letters and numbers that said "WEP KEY")? That's your WEP Password.
The trouble with WEP is, it's not very secure, and to add insult to injury, it creates an IP address that the Ipad doesn't recognize some of the time ("IP," by the way, stands for "Internet Protocol," which is sort of like your internet connection phone number; it usually a series of digits separated by periods, such as, for example, "192.168.4.5").
OKAY. SO THE PROBLEM IS THAT MY ROUTER USES THIS "WEP" SECURITY THING. WHAT DO I DO ABOUT THIS? AND WHY ARE YOU BEING SO POLITICALLY CORRECT BY WRITING "CABLE GUY/GIRL?" HAVE YOU EVER, EVER SEEN A FEMALE CABLE TELEVISION INSTALLER? EVER?
What you're going to do is change the security on your router from WEP to something far better called WPA2 (which stands for "Wi-FI Protected Access"). This is far more secure than WPA, and once you reconfigure your router to this type of security, your Ipad should connect with no worries.

(Keep in mind that when you do this, you're going to set up a new password for your router, and that the moment you apply your password, you'll lose your internet connection; this is because the password that your laptop/desktop had for the router--the old WEP password--is now not going to work. On your laptop/desktop, simply click on the Wi-Fi icon on the top of your screen, enter the password that you just set up for your router's New and Improved WPA2 security, and you're good to go laptopwise/desktopwise. And now, when you choose "Settings" on your Ipad, and go to the "Wi-Fi" tab and select your router--and enter the password you've set up for the router--everything should work fine. Oh, baby.)
(A final thing: if WPA2 security is too much for your laptop/desktop to handle, you can program your router with simple WPA security. It's not as good as WPA2 security, but it's still a lot better than WEP.)
As for the "cable guy/girl" thing..look, there has to be a female cable technician out there somewhere. They're a rare breed, but I'm sure one exists.

I tried all of the above and could not log into my home network.
I Checked The router setting and changed the maximum number of dhcp Users. The default number of users in my router setting is less than the number of wireless device that we run. Changing the dhcp setting solved the problem.

Just change your routers channel to 1, 6, or 11. rather than automatic.
Reseting the wireless network on the ipad worked for me.
I am having a similar problem with some added twists: I have an old iPad that I have used all over the world, including my home in Dublin which has wireless broadband (UPC). I bought a new iPad and it sees the network in Dublin but won't connect. The security on the router is WPA. I've tried many of the things I've seen on line as a fix but nothing works. Ideas?? This is driving me crazy. 😕
