iPod Touch - Wipe

Q: iPad won't connect to wireless network but laptop can

My iPad recognizes the wireless network but wont connect to any websites.

My husbands lap top is having no problem connecting to the wireless network and websites.

Why won't my iPad connect to any websites?

Try to reboot your device, if that doesn't help too, you may try to reset the network settings in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    good luck

Exactly the same thing happened to my ipad . Sooo annoying!

I can connect to a wireless network with wpa enterprise or wpa2 enterprise (which has a username and password)

But if there is only a password then it says that it can't connect to the network. Or just take away the password!

Ipad 4 running ios6.1.3. Worked perfectly for many moons but suddenly would not connect to home network. All other computers, iphones, kindle, etc, continued to connect. I tried all the reset/unplug/forget options and came up empty. Reset ipad and router, tried manual connection, etc. Nothing worked.

So, I logged in to router (netgear) via routerlogin.net to see if i might be able to come up with something, and it dawned on me to try setting up a guest account, with security settings of course. I previously had no need for a guest account, I would just give guests my regular password. But, it was clear that there was something amiss with the two networks I had set up--ipad had decided it did not like them. So I set up guest accounts with default "NETGEAR-GUEST" names and assigned new security settings and password. Then I reset all networks on ipad and signed in to the new guest network, just as usual. Voila.

As everyone else says, I don't know if this will work for you, or if it is specific to netgear, but it worked for me.

Worked like a charm for my Ipod touch.  My Iphone 4 was able to get wifi but not the Ipod.  It's one of those "go figure" things.  Thanks a lot!

My Ipad stopped connecting to wifi while I was on it   All other devices still work fine.  I tried various solutions offered, reset network connections, rebooted, etc but end up with the same problem.  I click to log on to my network, the name comes up but the little icon goes round and round and does not connect.

Do the wifi chips die and could that be the problem  It is an Ipad 2.

    Thanks

    Read the post by Derek

    Had the same problem

You need to follow his directions, log in to your router and change the security from WEP to WPA or WPA 2

I would not have a clue how to do that.  And for the non-techie why should that make any difference?

It makes a difference because WEP is very insecure and not recommended for use any more. Google how to get into your router's configuration page by its model number. Follow the directions and change the security - let us know if it works.

try to reset the ipad and enter your password for your router whenn the ipad turns back on if this does not work something is wrong with your router but if other devices are connecting to it go to your local app store and see what the problem is if nothing is wrong with your it all i can tell you is to buy a new router or ipad but the problem would mostly be to your router or you can try to reset your router

i hope this info was helpful so please like and reply  if you have googd things to say

i can also show you how to do other stuff on the ipad so just look for me
