carbon copy cloner and bootcamp

I'm replacing my boot drive with a 1 tb WD cavier black. I want to clone using carbon copy cloner to copy the original drive, CCC doesn't do bootcamp. Therefore before I clone should I dump or do I need to dump bootcamp from my original drive ?

Thanks

I agree with Hatter that you need a separate drive, not partition, for Windows. And with Windows, I have used both Acronis True Image and O&O Software's DiskImage. Both are highly recommended in installations where one needs to get one's boot drive up and running in a couple of minutes because there is a client standing there waiting.

For the Mac, I use Mike Bombich's Carbon Copy Cloner, along with Time Machine.

Well, my experience with Acronis is that it runs just fine when you boot Windows. As to whether or not it will run in an emulation is one of those kinds of questions I cannot answer.

My experience with Windows backup is based on working on Avid's DS, a high-end finishing tool that runs only on Windows. We had a real problem, pulled the backup off the shelf, booted, back in business in under 10 minutes. Client was completely unaware of any problem, issue or anything.

*And that is what you want in a disk image backup.*
