Sep 29, 2013 12:36 PM in response to Data Wranglerby Jeany,It's been a while since I weighed in here. I still have my original iPad and it still crashes, it keeps getting a little worse and worse again as time goes on.
I'm not sorry I have it, and I will replace it with another iPad when funds permit.
To tell the truth, I beat the **** out of my iPad. Worse, I am just not that crazy about using apps for sites that I navigate in Safari on my computer. That's my choice, and I pay the price. Both the Facebook and the Huffington Post apps still suck, still lacking functionality that accessing through a browser pernits. Sometimes I get so frustrated that I use the apps for a while, but I always go back to the browser because of some core functionality that is either horrible or missing entirely. I think a lot of it is absolutely horribly coded advertising, and as an end user, I have no idea what I could possibly do about that. I would love it if the coders could figure out a way to trap, boot, and report bad actors so that over time, the crashes would cease, but as long as problems can be solved by increasing memory or bandwidth, there's no motivation, just shove the mess into a corner and build a room on the other side.
When you only imagine ever-increasing resources, there's no reason to be alert to the impact flaws exert on the system, kind of like the approach some take toward our planet.

Oct 12, 2013 6:47 AM in response to Jeanyby Gsansoucie,Since upgrading to IOS 7.0.2 mobile safari crashes at least once a day now (just crashed two times in the past five minutes on me). For me it crashes on message board with images in the posts. My two MBPs had the same problem and required new logic boards! I hope this is a software issue only as this is getting crazy.
I have a 4th gen ipad, 32GB with 4G/LTE.

Oct 19, 2013 8:16 AM in response to Rob Bruenby waynewat,My browsers (Safari and Chrome) have both started to shut down while reading and posting in the comments section of the Disqus software used by many media organisations to allow their readers to make comments on stories etc.
So this is happening for both my iPad and iPad, both have iOS7 and for both Safari and Chrome. It never use to happen prior to a month of so back. It could be a problem with the Disqus software that is causing it in my case, or it could be a iOS update.
Don't know where to go from here. I have emailed Disqus about the issue.

Oct 19, 2013 8:29 AM in response to Data Wranglerby Tinchote,My iPad 1 with iOS 5.1.1: Safari crashes on almost any page. iTunes crashes randomly. Settings crashes (have you seen ANY operating systems where the settings page crash?). All Apple software running on an Apple OS, running on Apple hardware. And yet you feel that Apple ignoring all of us is justified because it doesn't hurt you particularly.

Oct 27, 2013 12:18 PM in response to Rob Bruenby telfordfrommonifieth,Safari was stable in IOS 6 in my iPad mini, then I (stoopidly) "upgraded" to IOS 7 - safari has crashed ever since - now in 7.0.3. If only I had not "upgraded". I cannot go back to IOS 6, or I would - I could not back-up my iPad, as my G4 eMac will not do that! Ugh and woe is me. Apple - please solve this!

Oct 30, 2013 7:37 AM in response to Rob Bruenby Ditto2u,I hate this **** iPad. It's a POS! I crash constantly in Safari, and the virtual keyboard won't register touches on a constant basis, especially the letter "a". Apple just says "reset to original....one of your apps is causing the problem." What a crock. I have very few apps, and they're all mainstream ones.
I will probably buy a Samsung tablet or the Surface to get out of this iPad ****.
A company which will not acknowledge its own problem with a product is the lowest of low. How dare they deny this systematic issue that so many users have?!
Never again will I purchase an Apple anything. I regret purchasing this iPad3 32G device.

Nov 1, 2013 7:19 PM in response to Rob Bruenby Last-iPad4me,So... Where is Apple's solution to the problem ?
Surely someone at Apple can resolve this for all of us who spent hard earned dollars to buy an iPad.
Someone please tell me where to find the solution... And not simply a suggestion to uninstall, disable, and negate the use for which I bought my iPad.
Is there a thread with a solution... A patch, an OS update, some answer for the multitudes of us who bought into the iPad before everyone else ?
Links to solution please....

Instead of emotionally lashing out, you need to calmly and succinctly report relevant, factual information about your crashing problem to help people help you
For starters, we assume you've read through this discussion thread from the start and tried the solutions presented here. Second, I missed which iPad model and OS version you are using and what specific Apps or actions are causing your crashes; Also, info like the number of Apps you typically leave open, Web pages that might be causing the crashes, etc. would be relevant to troubleshooting; Third, we here also assume your iPad isn't jailbroken or running unvetted software. Finally, iOS 7 Settings>General>About>Diagnostics & Usage may be of help, and in Settings>Safari, turning on Web Inspector may have uses...
If you've already made the decision to buy a cheap Android tablet that may never get a software update and is the subject of multiple FBI warnings about susceptibility to malware or a Windows machine with few Apps and a reputation for poor security, good luck with that - every platform has issues.

Nov 2, 2013 9:05 PM in response to Rob Bruenby Jerseygirltrixx,Just traded in my iPad 2 for a 4th with 32GB. I did a restore and only got 1/2 of what was on my iPad2, 1/2 of my pictures are still missing, and all my iTunes playlists got lost. This NEW ipad 4th Gen keeps Crashing on Facebook, but even more so in my Music and iTunes! I am really p-ss-d off! Too much money!!! I feel like I am going in circles trying to get it to stop. I always close out apps, turn on/off... WTH?!?!?!

That sounds frustrating. Sort to hear this.
You didn't regularly back up your old iPad to the cloud or your computer, and then do a final back up before setting up the new iPad 4? You hadn't activated PhotoStream? Those sound like operator error problems - not an Apple issue.
As for the crashes, were they happening with the old iPad hardware and content as well? Did you first try using the new iPad without your old data and Apps - to eliminate those as possible issues? Does the crashing occur on WiFi or cellular? Does it crash on other WiFi networks too? Do you use an Apple WiFi router or third party router? There are so many possible causes you have to systematically and methodically test and narrow down the list. We have both an iPad 3 and a 4, and just don't experience the problems you describe.
