Mar 6, 2014 11:00 AM in response to Rob Bruenby Bardium,To follow up on my previous post about Safari crashing, I went to the Genius Bar and the Genius told me to wipe and reinstall which I did. Everything worked well until the next day when it crashed again. Perhaps it is crashing less, but I haven't been using it much since then. Also I complained that it wouldn't let me delete emails. That problem seemed to improve, but the next day I received a message saying that I couldn't delete emails. We'll see.
BTW I was told by the Genius that this is a very minor problem if you consider the billions of devices sold and that work well. Of course my reply was that I didn't really care about the other billion, but I did want MINE to work well. He assured me that the wipe woudl solve my problems. When I take it in the next time (they must think I have nothing better to do than to run to the Apple store all the time) I am sure the Genius will tell me that I shouldn't have reinstalled all my apps because one of them is surely the problem. ... Alas.

Mar 7, 2014 9:31 PM in response to Bardiumby Emkay1,Bardium, I've had the cannot delete email problem and it is just a setting that needs changing. Perhaps something that got lost in restore. I can't quite recall exactly which one but I just googled it and the answer is somewhere here on this forum..
Regarding the crashes....I had the same problem and after Apple guiding me to do the restore as you have done, the problem remained. So much so that I couldn't go into iTunes at all.
It's now on the way to apple for repair or replacement. Apple support told me it is a memory fault.
What concerns me is, a potential replacement takes over the warranty period of the original as explained to me yesterday by Apple. As this is a progressive problem, then hypothetically, the replacement going wrong after the same period would be at the end of the warranty period. If I'm dissatisfied with a repair or replacement, do I have the right to a refund?

Mar 10, 2014 5:42 PM in response to Curro101by Flipland,Seriously,
You know, I moves to Apple for the quality of the OS, now I thing Apple is like Windows. I don't know why Apple don't yet fix it.
May be, it's a serious problem.....
I use my IPAD at least 3h per day and I stop counting Safari crashed. I got at least 10 crash atoday nd I shut down once.
It's seem similar as my past Window time. Don't work, reboot it, it's normal !!!!

Mar 10, 2014 9:17 PM in response to Rob Bruenby Nutsochick,I have a VERY WEIRD question. Does anyone remember when Apple starting letting other phone services (other than AT&T) handle the iPad? I'm not a tech person and I'm sure all the crashing is a software problem BUT I was just wondering if all the crashing COULD be because of ALL the services interfering with each other?
Just asking?

Mar 11, 2014 12:14 AM in response to Rob Bruenby ClownCake,Apple are punishing us for using gmail, at least in my case. My iPad started performing like an actual iPad after removing my gmail account from mail.

No, for a number of reasons. One, the people who are having the problems (and it is not all iPad Air users) are primarily describing a memory issue. This has nothing to do with which network the iPad is on. Two, in the U.S., cellular service is incredibly tightly regulated. Different carriers have different frequency bands allocated to them. Three, some of the people describing the problem are using WiFi. And not everyone who is reporting the problem is in the U.S. And four, there have been Verizon compatible iPads since the iPad 3.

Mar 12, 2014 12:41 PM in response to IdrisSeabrightby Nutsochick,Didn't think so, that's why I said it was a WEIRD question, that I WAS NOT a tech person and that I was sure it was a software problem. I DID NOT, however, blame it all on AT&T, I was just including them with the other services i.e., Verizon, Sprint, etc. I figured since Apple isn't coming up with any solutions why not throw out just about any suggestion. Who knows maybe one of them might be right no matter how off the wall they might be!!!!!

That's just silly. I use Gmail and Chrome with no difficulties. If Apple didn't want you to use Gmail, there would be a lot of easier ways to prevent you from doing so. And they'd probably make it affect everyone who uses Gmail instead of just you.
