May 8, 2014 4:10 PM in response to Rob Bruenby Cicimau,I have an Ipad 4 and ever since the 7.1.1 update my Safari is crashing a lot. My eBay Watch list closes in seconds after opening the web page, over and over and over again. I had no problems with Safari prior to the last update. It does not matter how many tabs I have open. Half of my business is done on eBay and I use my Ipad when I am not in my shop but now it is only good for sending/receiving emails.......it is really frustrating.

May 8, 2014 6:21 PM in response to geopixby Mr.Eee,I still get email updates when more comments/complaints are added to the thread.
I've had Apple products for years, still use an iPhone, but gave up the iPad for now, they start fixing-up their f-up and I may be back, until then I have business to conduct by tablet, and the iPad was no longer reliable so I had to make the switch to Galaxy.

May 14, 2014 7:58 PM in response to Rob Bruenby Catholic OS,It is pretty much impossible to use FB on safari on my iPad ( latest, 64gb). Annoying at best, criminal if you consider the amount of money Apple charges for everything. Can anybody recommend a good android tablet?

May 15, 2014 9:05 AM in response to Rob Bruenby charliefromri,Well, a wonderful new kink for the past 24 hours. Safari can no longer click on any hyperlink whatsoever. Cannot use the web at all. Chrome works just fine. Click on a link with Safari? Nothing! Lol, what a devise.....

May 15, 2014 10:12 AM in response to charliefromriby Mr.Eee,There's definitely some issues with iPad and Safari right now, when I had issues I'd try tossing the cookies, closing the background apps and rebooting the device, something's it helped a little, but that's all people seem to be getting right now from Apple.... very little.

May 15, 2014 10:23 AM in response to Catholic OSby Mr.Eee,The best Tablet is the one that fits your needs and your price range, i had returned my iPad Air since it kept crashing while I was working online, I happen to get a galaxy note-3 10.1 because there was a sale on a refurbed 32GB unit for $330, don't know if it's the best but it certainly does what I need it to do for right now.
I'd like to see Apple address their problems but it seems like they won't even acknowledge there is a problem, so I'll be holding back from pre-ordering anything else in the future until I see positive feedback from 'users' and not those websites promoting products for their free gifts.

May 16, 2014 7:02 AM in response to Rob Bruenby charliefromri,Writing from my pc. Today still no ability to click on anything using Safari. This morning the curser stopped working with email, and with it apparently the ability to cut and paste. I guess it was inevitable. This morning I had the great pleasure of smashing the iPad with a large hammer, as hard as I could. The remains are now in our dumpster. I have to say, I feel great!

May 16, 2014 9:08 AM in response to Rob Bruenby mooklet,We have an ipad3 and ipad4. Browsing the Web is now an excruciatingly frustrating chore. Both ipads started Crashing / Not Loading Pages A LOT after "upgrading" to ios 7.1.1! Maybe every 6-8 web pages will NOT load...or simply crash back to the Home screen. I have tried numerous "fixes" I have seen in the forums, but this friggin' issue will not go away. Does Apple respond to valid consumer complaints? Is that a naive question? We recently got an Apple TV, but am now regretting our further investment in Apple architecture!
Does anyone have any experience with an Android tablet and Roku box or Chromcast dongle? How does that setup work for you? Any known issues?

May 16, 2014 9:13 AM in response to mookletby Kurtosis12,Keep your Apple TV, you can play audio and video from an Android device to the Apple TV with a $5 app. It works great. I'm using the Double Twist app.

May 19, 2014 4:18 PM in response to Rob Bruenby Gardener53,Hi, constantly having this problem too. Using IPad 2 with latest IOS update installed. eBay UK is the main problem for me, today alone whilst trying to buy something it "closed" Safari 5 times in 3 minutes - so frustrating, I actually gave up and bought the equivalent item off Amazon instead.

May 25, 2014 11:00 AM in response to psmythby ComradeConrad,iPad 1 and Safari crashes more than it works. Some sites worse than others. Worst offender, ironically, is http://store.apple.com/us/accessories/all-accessories/bags. 100% crash.
iPad is the worst $800 I've ever spent. Useless except for something to throw at the cat.

Jun 1, 2014 5:46 AM in response to ComradeConradby Cpt_AckAck,@comradeconrad:
Dude I bought iPad 1 like two years ago for 250 € (used), which is the right price for this kind of device used mainly for web browsing. Well at least it used to be a good price because now my iPad is an utterly useless piece of garbage since it crashes every second website I visit. I get it - with its 250 mb RAM it's not quite a performance demon but it really was a reliable when I bought it. Every tip for solving the problem won't work, buying a never gen is out of the question because the same problem applies to iPads 2,3. imho Apple is deliberately introducing os updates that will make you device obsolete so you need to buy a new one.
Look at the lenght of this thread nothing changed and ppl are still left alone with crashing Safari. Apple is only good at marketing and making all the buzz and hype to convince you should pay extra € for a device with a rotten apple on it because it's "a premium" product. Well it's not. You'd be better off with any windows tablet. I'm giving my iPad to my nephew he'll play Angry Birds on it. And I'm staying away from Apple indefinetly.

Jun 14, 2014 4:56 PM in response to Rob Bruenby GeronimoJo,I really just came out here to see what others' experiences were with this issue, as I have had this same problem for close to two years now on my iPad. This phenomena is definitely deliberate on the part of Apple to keep you in the cycle of buying new products. I did not start seeing my problem until I installed the last update 5.1.1, after which time I could go no further on without jumping into iPad2.
I am willing to bet Apple places bugs in its last release before version change to support the new product. It's cool though, because my last Apple product purchase was 2010. Haven't done so since, and never will again.

Jun 14, 2014 5:13 PM in response to GeronimoJoby geopix,...Exact opposite experience with Apple products here, with nearly bullet-proof reliability (including my iPad 1 and now, iPad 3)...my seven-year old Mac Pro and five-year-old MacBook Pro are going strong too — now running Mavericks. The idea that Apple would purposefully smuggle its own products is just ludicrous. Apple has the highest customer satisfaction ratings the ought the computer industry. They know most customers are going to upgrade on natural cycles, so there would be no reason to knowingly allow bugs.
