Mar 2, 2012 11:47 AM in response to Bogdan Suciuby EssentialParadox,The problem is, those errors are related to facebook plugins (e.g., a 'like' button) on the website, rather than anything to do with the facebook app.

Mar 2, 2012 10:40 PM in response to EssentialParadoxby heather33,In view of our collective inability to get Apple to fix this issue I suggest we file a complaint with the FCC

Mar 3, 2012 1:40 AM in response to Rob Bruenby Anrando,Switched to using the "icab" browser app, which says it is optimized for ios 5.0.1. Two days now and no crashes. So far so good! Safari is useless to me and will crash every 2-3 minutes. IMHO this crashing problem is clearly ios 5.0.1 not working with Safari. Until, or IF Apple fixes the issue, using icab is so far working for me. At least I dont have a $600 iPod like I did a few days ago.

Mar 3, 2012 7:35 AM in response to Rob Bruenby Raingod,Icab should be crashing also since its base off of Safari, but those memory management features sound interesting. I have used another browser which had a similar feature and would also warn you of low memory but the browser still crashed. Not prepared to pay 2$ yet on another browser.

Mar 3, 2012 1:57 PM in response to Rob Bruenby BSween,Come on Apple, please address this issue! It pushing a QUARTER MILLION VIEWS!!!! I remember the days when you actually were concerned about your consumers. Now it is all about the money, the wow factor, and the horse and pony show. It is ridiculous that you have yet to even acknowledge this problem with your software. Stand behind your products...that is if you're proud of them.

Mar 3, 2012 3:36 PM in response to Rob Bruenby animule78,I have a ipad1 crashing every 5 minutes for last 2 weeks. I did alot of different fixes but Alohaglide listed directions on page 43...follow his advice and it will work again. I have been online for 6 hours and no crashes as of yet. The folders that i set up for my websites seem to be overlayed on the first page, a little hazy reading the name of the folder but all else works perfect. I am running it with debug console offline. Thank you Alohaglide!

Mar 3, 2012 8:47 PM in response to Rob Bruenby Anrando,Well, icab is NOT the answer. As others have said it crashes too, just takes a little longer. I did a test involving random characters on a web form. Safari crashes after approx 100 characters, icab after double that, but it still crashes. Another hopeful start, but ultimate failure!
All of the reboots, resets, clean reinstalls and all the rest of the "fixes" suggested, including that above just DON'T WORK, at least for me
IOS 5.0.1 bricked my iPad2 into an expensive, large iPod classic that is only good for playing some music.
Thanks Apple.
Like others, my frustration is palpable, and surpassed only by my anger.
Will this be "fixed"? I personally really doubt it. iPad3 is up in a few days. We can "fix" this problem by buying the new one.....right?

Mar 4, 2012 8:23 AM in response to Raingodby Meek123,The fact apple have not fixed the browser crashing issue is leading me to suspect we have some sort of hardware compatibility problem. There is no way apple is not aware of their unstable browser which I would describe as core to the web enable tablet device. I just suspect now they cannot fix it and are happy to stay silent in the hope we will go away.

Mar 4, 2012 8:35 AM in response to Meek123by JimHdk,Apple does not comment on open problems and does not participate in this forum (other than administratring it for abuse as reported by forum users). If you read this entire thread you will see that people have reported browser crashes on both the iPad 1 and iPad 2.
Apple is aware of this problem and will probably address it in the next iOS release.

Mar 4, 2012 8:40 AM in response to Meek123by scvdesigns,I posted on this topic months ago. My husband and I both have iPad1. And experiencing the same problem since the big OS "upgrade"/replacement with iCloud. What a pain in the neck this has been. And for reps of the iconic Apple to say this thread does not exist is mind blowing.
