When launching FInal Cut for the first time it scanned all of my audio units and one of them caused FC to crash. I removed the offending AU and now that I got an update for that particular AU, I would like Final Cut to rescan my AU plugins, but I can't find that option anywhere. When I want Logic Pro to rescan AU plugins I just delete the cache file located in User > Library > Caches, but it doesn't seem to work for Final Cut. How do I get Final Cut to rescan plugins? Also, is there a way to disable AU plugins in Final Cut without the use of a third party application?
MacBook Pro, Logic Studio, iPhone,
Mac OS X (10.6.3)
I have quit and relaunched Final Cut. It's not scanning any new or updated AU plugins. Is there a separate cache file similar to the one for Logic located anywhere?
There is no FCP cache for this. The plugins are only scanned at launch. Why do you say they're not being scanned? If they're not showing up in the FCP filters it's probably because they're not compatible.
I'm beta testing a plugin, the plugin was crashing Final Cut on launch so I removed it from my AU folder so that Final Cut could start. I installed a new build of the plugin, but FC is not attempting to scan it now.
Ok, so I just moved all of my plugins into a temporary folder, started Final Cut, quite FC, then moved all of my plugins back and it's scanning them all again now. Thank you for the replies.
