The Diff Between Pre-Order and Reserved

Pre-Order:
You walk into the store between the 24th and the 1st of July and walk out with an iPhone 4.

Reserved:
You stand in line after all the pre-order people have gotten their iPhones (or if they don't show up, their phone is held for 7 days) and any extra phones are given to you, in a first come, first serve of the people who reserved. You are not guaranteed to get one.

No Pre-Order or Reserve:
You get dibs on the phone after all the reserve people have gotten their phone.

End of story. Please stop asking.

Ummm, that's pretty much what I stated in my first post... :-|

Pretty much, but not exactly. In yours, you said that we'd have to wait until everyone who pre-ordered got theirs (which doesn't make much sense.) And that we aren't guaranteed a phone.

Ah, gotcha'. I just heard that if you pre-ordered, you go into the store first, then when that's all done, the reserves go by who's in line first.

But you aren't guaranteed a phone...they may not have enough stock...

EDIT: You aren't guaranteed a phone if you reserved. Sorry. Didn't fully type what I was thinking.

The reserved option is just to hold you a spot in the in-line Apple or retail store; which makes you by-pass the "I didn't reserved walk-in line"...it doesn't mean, if the demand is high, that the store will hold you an iPhone until end of day. That's why people who reserve still make an early line because iPhone sell out fast until restocked and knowing Apple, who knows!

As for pre-order,you don't have to go to the Apple store to pick up like you reserved it, the iphone will be delivered to you on the 24th. But the catch is, you have to pay up front.

I don't think this will happen. A lot of people have been saying they can't even reserve anymore. I think they're keeping track of their stock and sending the allotted amount of pre-ordered, reserved, and day-of phones. It certainly doesn't make sense that someone who didn't pre-order or reserve ahead of time could get a phone while someone who reserved can't.

I'm hoping this is true.

Technicalities. Look at the bottom of the picture of the Order Confirmation I posted. It says that if you purchased AppleCare, you're covered for an additional two years. That's not entirely true. Your AppleCare will last a TOTAL of two years, so in actuality, you're only covered an additional year and 9 months, yet they say that you're covered an additional 2 years.

If that were true, you'd be covered for 2 years and 3 months. :-|

that is true but while supply last...for example if the Apple store is almost sold out by mid-day June 24th, I seriously doubt it that they are going to hold one for you by closing time launch day. Reserved people are gonna have to make the line early in order to have one guarantee on the 24th. That's why I pre ordered mine for delivery, to avoid that whole waiting in line mess.

I wish I could do that, but a) I couldn't get through and b) I don't have the money yet. And since people have been reporting holds for the money on their account and possibly even payments going through, I couldn't risk it.
