Brush won't go larger anymore

This is a weird thing to try and word, but before (before when or what i don't know) I was able to use brushes like skin smoothing at a fairly large size. Now, all of the brushes only show up about the size of a quarter on all of the pictures. At first, I thought it was just skin, and maybe the brush was trying to sense the amount of skin tone in the picture and limiting the brush, but that's not it. Any help would be appreciated.
