Just updated to 10.6.4 and now my Quicken Essentials for Mac 2010 has suddenly stopped working...will not download transactions from any accounts. NOT happy about this. How do I trash this and revert to 10.6.3. From what I'm reading, this update is junk...steer clear.
21.5 iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.3), OS is actually 10.6.4...(wasn't on list yet)

I have the same issue with 10.6.4. It is hanging on "assigning categories " from the import screen for a bank download via a web connect file. I reverted back to my old version of Quicken for 2007

Thank God I thought it was just me. Sixteen years using Apple and this is the first time I have any trouble with an OS update. First I had errors installing 10.6.4, then Quicken Essentials would not download my banks transactions either which is obviously a little disheartening. Gladly, in a weird way, other people having problems makes me feel a little better. The problem should be fixed since it it out there.
Quicken Essentials just hangs and then times out. This morning it could not even connect to my banks

Do note that in safe mode, 3rd-party apps, including Quicken's, shouldn't work. More than likely, besides the Internet connection thing, you had a faulty installation. Backup everything and download & install the 10.6.4 COMBO update, repair permissions, and restart.

*So is 10.6.4 a piece of junk and everyone should "steer clear" like you say?*

Please let everyone know more about this.

I had the same problem downloading transactions after the 10.6.4. upgrade. A boot in Safe Mode, followed by a permissions repair and a subsequent normal reboot, had Quicken Essentials downloading transactions again.
