Syncing only part of iTunes Library

You are right about there not being any options to select only certain albums or tracks to sync from different artists. Several people have made note of this and most ended up doing probably one of two things in this situation.

1. Enable the "sync only checked songs and videos" option from under your iPod's Summary tab. Then for each track or album you wish to sync to your iPod, make sure there is a tick mark next to it in your iTunes library. This method can be a bit tedious at first, but gets easier with time.

2. Set up one playlist with all the music you wish to sync to your iPod. Then set your iPod up from under the Music tab to sync that one playlist. Personally, I would choose this one.

But how does that work when syncing a smaller capacity iPod?

If I select 30g of tunes to sync with the iTouch that would be WAY too many to sync on the Nano.

If that is the case, then set up a separate playlist for each iPod and set each up to sync only that one playlist.

OK. So I chose "sync only checked..." and checked several, many tunes in the library. I then hit sync, it synced and put nothing on the player.

Hmmm. What options do you have configured from under the Music tab for your iPod?
