Q: rotating iPad doesn't change screen direction

You can software set it also... Swipe up from bottom of the screen to get the grey menu up one of the settings to the right is the "orientation" switch and some iPads come with this switch set to "locked". turn this off by touching it and your iPad will rotate to whatever direction you want it to.  My iPad didn't seem to have the hardware switch affore mentioned.
