Two iPhones on one iTunes account ?

Hi,

My wife has an iPhone 3GS synchronised with a iTunes account (musics and applications). I plan to buy a iPhone 4. Is it possible to synchronise it with the same iTunes account ?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5)

Wife and I use same iTunes account (log in for iTunes) for our stuff.
We both sync with same computer.
However, we have separate logins for the computer thus we each have our own Profiles.

While you can do it with one profile (iTunes knows difference between phones) it will become a pain if you sync contacts/calendars as you only have one set on the computer thus you may end up mixing your data there. This is why you should have different logins for your computer thus.

Using one iTunes account does make things easier though as you only need to buy an app once and sync it to both devices (can do that with two accounts as well if both are authorized together in iTunes but becomes a pain).

gdgmacguy - if you dont mind , would like to ask a bit more: +While each iPhone can only sync with one iTunes account, a single iTunes account can sync with multiple devices. Each device is treated uniquely. However, contacts (yahoo sync) is now asking me if I want to merge or something... I dont want the other iPhone person's contacts added to me or mine to them - do you know what Reply with?? Thanks so much....

You have control over which contact program with which to sync your contacts--Mobile Me, Yahoo, Outlook, etc. If you're getting the message to merge contacts, it means that you have different contacts on your phone than are present in your contact manager (perhaps you entered some manually). By merging, you will "combine" the contacts from your program and the ones you've manually entered. If you elect not to merge, you will erase the contacts already present on your phone and replace them with the contacts from the program you selected.

Hope this helps.
